The Game blossomed from…
The collaborative effort of Tryst Gallery, The Friends of Leesburg Public Arts and The Commission on Public Art. Our mission is to spread the word about all the great art establishments Leesburg has to offer and bring patrons into Leesburg.
Tryst Gallery, opened in June 2016, and is dedicated to bringing artists, art lovers and art collectors together. They match artists to client needs, facilitating commissioned projects, and helping hang art in homes and businesses. Artwork rotates every 60 days.
The Friends of Leesburg Public Arts (FOLPA) is a non-profit organization established in 2012 to preserve, promote and provide funding for public art in the Town of Leesburg. Their mission is to provide venues, programs and events that educate and encourage participation in public art. FOLPA is the funding arm for the Commission on Public Art (COPA).
The Leesburg Commission on Public Art (COPA) consists of seven members appointed by the Town Council and one member of the Council. COPA's responsibilities are established by ordinance, and include supporting the development of a public art program, serving as an advisory body for public art, advising the Town Council on policies that will strengthen the arts, administering activities concerning public art that are not a part of regularly scheduled Town programs, and seeking support on behalf of the arts in Leesburg.
Together we make a good team and it is our hope that you will have a great time playing the Gallery Game and will visit the participating galleries and merchants often.
